Well, I work on the bristol while it is still a 9"x12" sheet, with the badge area marked off in pencil - and I use less water than when I am working on illustration board... and that keeps the badge flat for when I cut it out from the bristol sheet when it is finished =).
I think also that I work pretty slowly gives each part time to dry before I work on other parts of it, so that keeps it from warping, too.

I love the toonier style you used for this badge, it really suits the character well, I think! :D

I have to agree with Growly there, I love your toonier stuff!
How do you keep from warping the paper when you paint on it? I mean, I know that must seem like a dumb question, but I'm being serious. ^_^;

it's very simple but it's got a spectacular composition to it. I really enjoy this along with the rest of your work.
