A dragon dance through Chinatown, celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Acrylic paints on 20"x30"illustration board - the original painting will be at the Further Confusion 2008 art show.
This painting took approximately 120 hours to complete.
All of the characters depicted are my own original characters - several of them are recurring characters thoughout my artwork - including Cirrus the eastern blue dragoness, Candi the red panda, Antarctica the blue vixen, Echo the genet, Vienna the arctic roo, Kristania(Misty)the ringtail cat, and Ace the black jackal.
This is a fictional Chinatown - the building designs are my own creation - the gateway was inspired by the Chinatown gateway in London, however, and the entire piece was inspired by visiting San Francisco's Chinatown.

Wow!
Truly wonderful. So beautifully clean and intricate, I thought it was digital. As a whole, it's very impressive, and the tiny details really bring it to life. Very nice. :]

Amazing piece of work, there is so much going on in this picture, the more you look at it the more you see, like the mystery fur peeking from the top of the front center building. Love the bright colors, and the variety of characters.

That's well worth the 120 hours. Excellent example of your skill *wags tails*

This came out every bit as well as I imagined from your WIP. Congratulations... really striking work. You must be so proud!

Oh goodness, what an engaging work of art! I love the realism in the perspective and the number of little side stories going on and yet it's not cluttered. I can get lost in it.
I can't wait to see it at the show.

I'd like a story about the chubby boar and his child there. They seem like fun characters. The details in this are amazing - and I love the touch of the digital camera. It makes the scene even more believably real.

Great work on the chinese lettering (woohoo! They make sense) And awesome museum quality art as well. The details are incredible and I can't believe it's acrylic! It looks like CG. :)

Your ability to come up with such amazing designs without reference (much anyway) is quite impressive, the amount of work you put into this shows.
