Year of the Rooster by Kacey

This piece is my contribution to a project for the FC 2008 art show, with 11 other artists, of the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Most of the artists were able to draw their own Zodiac sign, with only a few overlaps. I was born in the year of the Rooster - and my sign is the Metal Rooster. So here is a Rooster in elegant Chinese robes, playing an erhu. All 12 signs of the zodiac will be displayed together on a panel at the FC artshow, so be sure to check it out if you are planning to attend. This piece is done in acrylics on 8"x10" illustration board.

Dragon Dance by Kacey

A dragon dance through Chinatown, celebrating the Chinese New Year. Acrylic paints on 20"x30"illustration board - the original painting will be at the Further Confusion 2008 art show. This painting took approximately 120 hours to complete. All of the characters depicted are my own original characters - several of them are recurring characters thoughout my artwork - including Cirrus the eastern blue dragoness, Candi the red panda, Antarctica the blue vixen, Echo the genet, Vienna the arctic roo, Kristania(Misty)the ringtail cat, and Ace the black jackal. This is a fictional Chinatown - the building designs are my own creation - the gateway was inspired by the Chinatown gateway in London, however, and the entire piece was inspired by visiting San Francisco's Chinatown.

Nikki the bat, out at night by the light of the full moon... I figured with Halloween coming up, I'd do something special =). This is wallpaper sized (1024 x 769... okay, I was a pixel off) - and I tried to format it in such a way that it would look good as a desktop background... (provided that you don't have too many icons ^.^) And it had been far too long since I'd drawn a bat. Acrylics on 9"x12" bristol board. Enjoy =D And Happy Halloween =) Enjoy candy night.

A silver phase red fox girl, sitting in a patch of clover in the morning mist - looking cute ^.^ I'm kindof flip-flopping between the more feral anthros, and the more human ones - this one is more feral, obviously =). I love silver phase red foxes - they are also greatly underrepresented in furry art.. Inked with microns and then painted with acrylics on 5"x7" illustration board.
